- “New Clients” refer to clients who are NOT holding any banking products or services with or distributed by the Bank in past 12 months, except Standard Chartered Credit Cards.
- New Payroll Clients refer to clients who have not used the Bank’s auto-payroll services in the past 12 months and have opened a Payroll Account during the promotion period.
- The required minimum opening balance of the MSA via SC Mobile App / Online Banking is HKD10,000 / USD2,000.
- The required minimum opening balance of the MSA via branch / “My RM” platform / branch staff phone channel is HKD100,000 / USD13,000.
- If the Eligible Client has opened multiple MSAs during the Promotion Period, the deposit balance of each MSA in different currencies will be calculated separately. The Bank will aggregate the deposit balance of all MSAs under the same currency to determine the total deposit balance for that currency and the number of Lucky Draw chances attained for each currency. Each Eligible Client can enjoy the Gift and/or Staycation Package per currency ONCE only.

Clients can enjoy higher savings interest rate rather than board rate of ordinary savings accounts as long as they open a high yield Marathon Savings Account with new funds during the promotion period.
You may only deposit New Funds to the Marathon Savings Account (“MSA”) at the time of sign up. No further deposit of funds to the MSA after the sign-up date and during Bonus Period will be allowed.
The deposit requirements to enjoy the high yield Marathon Savings Account interest rate is depending on the account opening channel and currency. The minimum and maximum opening balances are as follows:
