How to Apply for AAVS

Each Octopus linked with AAVS can only be automatically reloaded once per day.
No. If you have more than one Standard Chartered / MANHATTAN credit cards, you can only use one of them to apply for AAVS. However, each Octopus Holder can apply for a maximum of 3 AAVS for supplementary credit cardholders of the same credit card.
Application of AAVS for supplementary credit card holders is only applicable if the principal credit card holder has already enrolled for or is applying for AAVS at the same time.
You can select the option “I would like to change the credit card number for existing AAVS” on our online or downloadable forms.
Please call the Octopus card customer service hotline at 2266-2222 to cancel your existing AAVS. After receiving the cancellation confirmation from Octopus, you can submit another AAVS application for your new Octopus card by selecting the option “I would like to apply for the AAVS” on our online or downloadable forms.

A handling fee of HKD20 will be levied by Octopus which will be deducted from the newly designated credit card once the application is approved.
Transferring of AAVS accounts can be done without cancelling the existing AAVS. Simply submit an application form to the newly designated financial institution.

Please submit separate applications for AAVS account transfer and changing the auto-reload amount. Otherwise, only the request for AAVS account transfer will be processed, with the change on auto-reload amount cancelled.
1. Standard Chartered / MANHATTAN credit card principal card customers are eligible for AAVS, except for Standard Chartered JOS Visa Platinum Card, Standard Chartered Corporate Card and Standard Chartered Visa Signature Business Card.
2. Application of AAVS for supplementary credit card cardholders is only applicable if the principal credit cardholder who have already enrolled for or applying for AAVS at the same time.
3. The AAVS is free for all first-time applications. A handling fee of HKD20 will be levied by Octopus for switching financial institutions or re-activating an AAVS. The handling fee will be deducted from the newly designated account once the application is approved.
4. Should applicants who opt for auto-reloading HKD150/HKD500 per transaction want to switch to another bank that only provides the option of auto-reloading HKD250 per transaction thereafter, applicants should either change the auto-reloading amount to HKD250 or cancel the AAVS before switching to another bank. Applicants are required to pay Octopus Cards Limited a non-refundable handling fee.
5. The AAVS approval processing time normally takes around 2 to 3 weeks. An activation letter will be sent to the applicant upon confirmation of successful application.
